What is Bittersweet (Solanum dulcamara)?

Bittersweet (Turkish: Karnıyarık Otu) is a medicinal plant from the nightshade family. In folk medicine, it has been used for centuries.

Traditional Applications

Active Ingredients

Bittersweet contains solanine, solamargin, and other alkaloids as well as tannins and saponins. These compounds have anti-inflammatory and antimicrobial properties.
