In Stomach Botox, botulinum toxin (Botox) is injected endoscopically into several points of the stomach muscle. The Botox temporarily paralyses the stomach muscle, slows gastric emptying and prolongs the feeling of fullness.
The treatment takes approximately 15–20 minutes and is performed as an outpatient without general anaesthesia. Patients can go home immediately after the procedure. The effect lasts 4–6 months.
Stomach Botox is suitable for patients with a BMI between 27 and 35 who do not wish surgical treatment or want to prepare for a later operation.
